Christmas Tree Recycling

Published: 10 December 2020

Surrey Heath Borough Council's popular free Christmas tree recycling scheme will be back again this festive season.   cartoon Greenspace team leader, Steve

An amazing total of almost 1,400 trees were dropped off at our recycling points in January 2020, helping to make the Greenspace team leader Steve smile from ear to ear!

The face of the real Christmas tree recycling scheme is hoping for an even bigger number of trees to be collected this time around – so bring your trees to one of the recycling points from 4-17 January and help #MakeSteveSmile!

Once collected, the trees will be chipped, with the woodchips used to top up paths in our beautiful parks and green spaces. Last year many of the Christmas tree chippings ended up on the main path into Windlemere SANG, which looked great and smelt fabulous!

Christmas trees can also be dropped off at Community Recycling Centres, or put in your brown garden waste bin if you are subscribed to the scheme.

This year Christmas tree recycling will take place between 4th January and 17th January 2021 and collection points will be set up at the following venues:
Recreation Ground (behind All Saints Church) - Lightwater     |     School Lane Field - Bagshot     |     Windmill Field - Windlesham

PLEASE NOTE: REAL CHRISTMAS TREES ONLY
